CINNAMON ROLLS (Zimtschnecken)
Dough: 3/4 cup butter or margarine 2 1/4 cups milk 1/2 tsp salt 4 tsp dry yeast (I take 1 cube of fresh yeast) 1/2 cup sugar ~ 7 1/2 cups flour
Filling: Melt butter and pour into milk, let become luke. Add yeast and stir well. Add salt, sugar, and flour and make a soft dough. Let stand warm covered with a dish towel for about 40 min. (doubles!). Divide dough into four parts and roll out each part to ~ 8 x 6 inches. Spread butter on it and sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mixture to your taste. Roll up each dough part, cut into 8 (or 10) pieces. Place rolls in (paper)muffin forms (cut side up). Spread top with melted butter and sprinkle with rather big sugar pieces (we call it hail sugar). Bake in preheated oven for ~ 8 10 min. at 475 F. Source: Gabi's Swedish teacher
