GERMAN CHOCOLATE BROWNIES 1/2 cup butter or margarine 1 package sweet chocolate - broken into squares 1/2 cup sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs lightly beaten 1 cup flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt Melt butter and chocolate till smooth in double boiler. Cool slightly. Add sugar and vanilla. Beat in eggs. Add dry ingredients. Bake in 9" square pan for 18-22 minutes at 350 degrees. Topping: 2 Tbsp. butter or marg. 2 Tbsp. milk 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 2 Tbsp. corn syrup 1 cup flaked cocoanut 1/2 cup chopped pecans Combine butter and brown sugar in bowl. Add cocoanut, pecans, corn syrup and milk. Mix well. Drop by teaspoon onto warm brownies. Spread evenly. Broil 2-4 minutes till brown and bubbly. Source: Catherine's Mom From Catherine |
