TOFFEE

1 pound butter
2 cup sugar
1 cup sliced almonds
12 ounces chocolate chips

In sauce pan, cook butter and sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly. The whole process will take about 20 - 30 minutes. The mixture will separate, go back together and then caramelize before it is finished. When finished, pour into a well-greased pan and pour chocolate chips into pan. Spread around the melting chips until evenly distributed and then sprinkle with the almonds. After the toffee sets, break it up into pieces.

Note: This is a really simple recipe. Just make sure to watch for the caramelization. It's a beautiful gift for friends!
