Hello! I'm thrilled to discover that there is a web site dedicated to Rosamunde Pilchers's books! I know I'll be a frequent guest. I'm dying to know if Rosamunde has a new book out yet. Have you heard of any in the making? Also have you had a chance to enjoy the book, "The World of Rosamund Pilcher"? I had heard that a picture book about the places Rosamunde writes about was available, but it took me forever to find it. It was definitely worth the wait! I adore it! And I refer back to it each time I read another one of her books. Thank you for this site. I know I'll be seeing you. Kara

Comments:
First of all, I want to say that I was incredibly happy to find this site because it's so nice to see that so many people love Rosamunde Pilcher's books. Where I live, in Romania, she isn't very popular and I could hardly find her books. From the first book I read (The Carousel) I felt like I entered a totally different world, a world where I could escape everyday's life, a world where everything is possible. The way she describes people, landscapes, emotions is soooooo incredibile!! It seems as if everything she writes comes easily, as she's telling a story that happened long ago, still she remembers it very well. My favourite RP book is Voices In Summer and when I read it, I simply fell in love with those places, and also the people. Going to Cornwall is my wildest dream but I don't think it will come true that soon... I also love September and my favorite character was Caroline. I don't know why, but the story of Edmund's marriage to her, those times so long ago, forever lost, fascinated me. But I also loved Pandora, and from the first description the author made of her through her brother's thoughts, she charmed me. It's unbelieveable how real, human, yet perfect all of Rosamunde Pilcher's characters are! You can feel them, you want to be them and you admire them... Right now, as I'm re-reading The Shell Seakers, I've reached the chapter named "Sophie". The first time read it , I cried when, at the end, Sophie died. I know for sure I'm gonna cry again but it feels so good coz it's just like real life: bad things happen but we've got to find the strength to live thru them! Recently I read Coming Home and, just when I thought I've seen the best of Rosamunde Pilcher, she amazed me again!!! This book is so great I just had to read it all in two days, whithout interruption! Loveday is so lively and so fascinating, just like Diana...My favourite scene is when, after picking the girls up from their school, Diana asks Judith to call her her name and all of them scream "Diana!!!" while the car runs along the highway!! Well, anyway, congratulations, Sandy, for making this site! Rosamunde Pilcher is a very special and talented lady and she certainly deserves all our appreciation!

Comments:
I don't remember when I met Mrs. Pilcher's books at the very first time; but I for sure can say that they are for me the best to come back to calm when I'm nervous or when I need peace. My mother also loves her, but as she does not read English, it's very difficult to get them in Spanish because there are two publishing companies that represent her in our language. Some day I bought "Shell Seekers" and some days after my mom came with another called "Story of an inheritance", which resulted to be the same! Now I'm looking for "Christmas with R.P." and "The Blackberry Day", which are new, both in spanish. I'll tell you what I had to do in order to get them. To end: She is my favourite!

In reading this web site I have discovered the existence of the early RP books. I am going to try and find them. I have read everything else she has written and have them on my shelves. I have also shared them with family and friends. As well, I have The Shell Seeker video, and while it is not quite the same as the book, nonetheless it provides the same message. I await the next wonderful, gentle read from RP.

I absolutely mourn when I have finished a RP book. I prefer her longer books. The Shell Seekers and September were wonderful (I read the Shell Seekers in high school or college) but Coming Home is by far my favourite. For the 2 weeks that I was reading oming Home, I felt as though I was living with the Carey-Lewis family (an enviable situation) I hope that she writes another saga like it soon. I enjoyed reading your page, and plan to return to it soon.

I love all her books. I know Scotland through her books and the beautiful description of the towns and homes. I like the way I feel after reading one of her books. Whenever I need a perk I read one of the short stories in The Blue Bedroom. I've read September three times and carry all the characters in my heart. The lives in Ms. Pilcher's stories are lives I wish I had. Thank you.

I've just finished Coming Home. I am a math high school teacher and have taken time on Thanksgiving break to finish this 725+ page book. It was one that I wanted to finish and didn't want to end. I savored each word - a true escape from the world of teaching! Wondered what other books of hers are similar length with single-book story plot. Would like to read another over Christmas break. Thanks, Susan

Comments:
The landscape is described and every character seems to relate to the landscape as if it were a character. Was that the intention? The rooms and houses seem to deepen the discription of the characters. Where as, the landscape discription, so full and detailed not only transport me to another mind picture place (never have visited Scotland) but, almost seem to me like another character in most of the stories.

An avid reader herself, my mother introduced me to Ms. Pilcher's work sometime in the late 1980's. I have been hooked ever since! Her writing transports me to a place within myself I never knew existed...and I feel as if I have somehow been there before, although I have yet to visit England and Scotland. Hurray for an author who relies on beautiful prose and description to relay her message instead of today's common habit of excess, excitement, and violence. When I am feeling a little frazzled with the many daily pressures pulling me this way and that, I can pick up one of her books, and be immediately reminded of the simple pleasures. Thank you for this web site where I can share my admiration for Ms. Pilcher's talents with others! Wendy Stewart
